Paying your rent

MySovereign is the home of managing your tenancy and it makes it easy to pay your rent online. It's been recently rebuilt and the new site is faster, more reliable and more user-friendly. We're going to be introducing new services over the coming months too, so watch this space. It's easy to register or log in here.

Please remember to make your payment in advance so that we receive it before your rent is due.

You can also view your rent statements on MySovereign. Choose to download a statement for the last month or the latest three, six or 12 months. If you need a statement going back further than this, please email us on contact@sovereign.org.uk.

Your rent-clear weeks

For those of you on a 48-week tenancy, your last rent-clear weeks in 2018-2019 are 18 and 25 March 2019. For the financial year from April 2019 they will be 16 and 23 December 2019 and 23 and 30 March 2020. If you’re struggling with arrears on your account, please make your payments as normal. All the money that would have gone towards your rent will go directly to clearing your arrears instead – but to you it will feel just like any other week. That’s just a few rent-clear weeks but several steps closer to a debt-free future.

If you're on a 50-week tenancy, your rent-clear weeks will be 18 and 25 March 2019 plus 23 and 30 March 2020.

If you’re a tenant but not on a 48 or 50-week tenancy, please note that you don’t miss out – your weekly rent is slightly lower instead as you’re paying over more weeks.

Leaseholders and shared owners pay their rent and/or service charges monthly in advance so rent-clear weeks don’t apply.

More about rent and service charges

We use the rent and service charges we receive to provide services and carry out improvements to your home and estate. That's why it’s important you keep your payments up to date.

Please don’t forget, your rent needs to be paid in advance. This means you should be paying your rent at the start of each week you’re in your home, not the end.

For reference. As there are actually 53 Mondays in the 2019-2020 financial year, the calendars also explain what that means for your payments or please contact us if you need to know more.

(2018-2019 calendars are still available in resident publications).
